Elkhan Nuriyev is a recognized political scientist with a strong track record in political analysis on security, and energy issues in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Eurasia Region and the Caspian Sea Region. Elkhan Nuriyev has provided comprehensive comments, briefings and analysis for international organizations, think tanks, government agencies and companies. An alumnus of the Russian Academy of Sciences, he held government posts in Azerbaijan, and a number of visiting research fellowships in the USA and Germany, among others at the George Washington University, the Monterey Institute of International Studies, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, and the German Council on Foreign Relations. He is a Global Energy Associate at the Brussels Energy Club.
